Culturally speaking, the city of Riva is rich in offerings. The main historical monuments are the Palazzo Pretorio dating from 1375 that houses Roman, medieval and modern tombs under the loggia, the fortress of the Rocca from the 12th century on the lake surrounded by a moat with drawbridge that hosts the Civic museum, the gate to the medieval wall, the Apponale tower and the bastion, a fort constructed on the walls of Mount Rochetta 160 metres high. Of note is the church of the Inviolata with its Baroque interior designed by a Portuguese architect.
Riva del Garda is passionate about music and the city hosts various musical events, such as the Riva Music Festival, a meeting for young musicians, and the Garda Jazz Festival.
